Interpretive centre.

Fifteen years after it was first proposed, the new Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre project was officially opened by An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern T.D. on 8th February 2007. The €30m visitor and interpretative centre involved a significant upgrading of the walkways and viewing areas at the Cliffs, provision of a visitor centre incorporating audio visual theatre, exhibation, restaurant and retail areas. Raised viewing platforms were built along the coast path to facilitate better views. Major changes to visitor management approaches we also part of the overall project.



The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre Project received grant approval of €10m from Failte Ireland. This is the highest grant awarded to a Tourism Project in Ireland. Clare County Council are to seek World Heritage Designation for the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre.
